Why is tension in your body not good for your health?
Consider your body working like a hosepipe. Now make a bend in the hosepipe and the water will not flow freely as before. This is the same with your body. But the bend in the hosepipe is actually tension in your muscles. Muscle tension is caused by; the ongoing mismanagement of stress, poor posture, and lack of body awareness and mobility.
As tension builds in the muscles, they become tight , the muscle fibres shorten and this restricts blood flow throughout the body. Think of the water in the hosepipe as your blood flow, and the bend in the hosepipe as muscle tension around the veins and arteries.
As the tension increases, so does the pressure on the blood circulation, and so the life-giving blood does not reach and nourish the body as it needs to. Just like the oil in your car needs to be changed regularly, so the blood circulation in your body needs to flow freely. Unfortunately the lifestyle that many people have these days does not promote good blood circulation, but fortunately there are solutions.
Massage Therapy with Tony Edwards will loosen up the tension in the muscles, thereby stimulating better blood circulation in the body, that will nourish and relax your muscles, tissues and organs.
